In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria, the death toll has surpassed 48,448, according to Minister Suleyman Solyu. However, the combined death toll which includes those who are killed in Syria has climbed to more than 54,000. More than 115,000 were injured as a result of the powerful tremors. Solyu says that the government plans to set up 115,585 containers for the families without a home and says so far, 23 sites were set up with 85,000 people living in them. Furthermore, 36,257 buildings had collapsed, with 6,000 of 18,219 stated for immediate demolition.
