On December 20, 2022 at 2:34 P.T, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Eureka area, California USA. The epicenter of the earthquake is Humboldt County, which has about 120,000 people. At least 2 people died and 12 injuries were reported. Tens of thousands of people were left without running water and electricity. Galvin Newsom, the governor of California, has declared a state of emergency. There were also reports of damages to roads and homes. Additionally, there were 3 dozen more earthquakes that struck the areas afterwards-some up to 4.6 magnitude. According to PowerOutage.us, there were about 70,000 power outages reported by 1 P.M P.T.
